Medical support transforming lives

Accessible Minibuses and Transport Costs

Accessible transport - helping residents of the London Boroughs of Richmond and Kingston suffering from any medical condition that renders conventional transport either inaccessible or inappropriate.  A fifteen passenger seat accessible minibus costs between £40,000 - £64,000

ACCESSIBLE TRANSPORT - HELPING PREVENT LONELINESS, ISOLATION AND KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY CONNECTED

A specially adapted minibus can provide an elderly, frail or medically infirm person with the opportunity to leave their home and continue life as part of the community. It can take groups of elderly people and disabled young people on special and memorable days out, providing stimulation for them and much needed respite for their carers. Without it, the quality of life for many residents – both young and old – would be vastly reduced.

The Foundation has partnered with RAKAT (Richmond and Kingston Accessible Transport) in addressing this area, but can also consider applications from individuals and other local organisations and can contribute towards  the cost of an accessible vehicle or providing accessible transport.

TVF awards a grant of £22,000 to TAG Youth Club for disabled young people towards an accessible minibus - DETAILS
