The Foundation focuses its support for accessible transport to help residents of the London Boroughs of Richmond and Kingston suffering from any medical condition that renders conventional transport either inaccessible or inappropriate.
One specially adapted fifteen seat bus can provide an elderly, frail or medically infirm person with the opportunity to leave their home and continue life as part of the community. It can take groups of very disabled young people on special and memorable days out, providing stimulation for them and much needed respite for their carers. Without it, the quality of life for many residents – both young and old – would be vastly reduced.
The Foundation has partnered with RAKAT (Richmond and Kingston Accessible Transport) in addressing this area, but will also consider applications from individuals and other local organisations.
The Foundation is also able to contribute to the cost of accessible vehicles and in exceptional circumstances towards the cost of providing accessible transport.
Grant applications are reviewed each month. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact The Victoria Foundation on T: 020 8332 1788 or by Email
