Toolkit Grants & Elective Bursaries

Supporting medical students - the NHS doctors of the future

TVF supports widening participation in medicine

TVF supports widening participation in medicine by awarding Toolkit Grants and Elective Bursaries of c£500 to medical students from lower socio-economic backgrounds to help cover the cost of textbooks, study materials, medical equipment and travel to hospital or elective placements.

TVF does not award grants towards tuition fees or grants to overseas students.

The grants we award each year are only possible through the income we receive from our investments, donations and grants, the proceeds from events, and being beneficiary charity of the year.

We would like to say a very special thank you to *The C A W Blackwell Discretionary Will Trust, and Consilient Health for their annual support for medical students.

...This grant will make a huge difference for me as I finish my 4th year of medicine and enter my 5th and final year. I would like to use the grant for essential revision resources that will help with my upcoming examinations. I will also be able to purchase additional pairs of scrubs and a new pair of shoes for my placements...

How TVF Toolkit Grants and Elective Bursaries make a difference

Thank you to The C A W Blackwell Discretionary Will Trust for its tremendous support for medical students and future generations of doctors

A further extremely generous donation from The C A W Blackwell Discretionary Will Trust has enabled The Victoria Foundation to increase the grant amount and the number of medical students it supports annually.

The Victoria Foundation is so grateful to have received an additional six figure donation from The C A W Blackwell Discretionary Will Trust. This very considerable donation will enable the Foundation to increase both the grant amount it awards to medical students facing great financial hardship during their studies and the number of students it supports annually.

Grants from 'The Charles Anthony Walter Blackwell Training Fund' will be awarded by the Foundation to medical students in real need to help provide study materials, equipment, and travel to hospital or elective placements.

“This tremendous donation will have such a huge impact not only on the increased level of support we will award to medical students but will also enable us to expand the reach of our grant giving programme which supports widening participation in medicine. ‘The Charles Anthony Walter Blackwell Training Fund’ will provide vital funding for medical students – the future generations of doctors. We are so truly grateful to the trustees of The C A W Blackwell Discretionary Will Trust in making this award to the Foundation”
