Accessible minibuses and transport costs transforming lives

Accessible transport enables disabled youngsters and the elderly to participate in educational and social activities in the community. A specially adapted minibus can take groups on special and memorable days out, providing stimulation for them and often much needed respite for their Carers. 

Without TVF's support for accessible transport, the quality of life for many residents of the boroughs of Kingston and Richmond, both young and old,  would be vastly reduced.

The Foundation has partnered with RAKAT CT, several local organisations and special schools in addressing this area and has contributed towards the cost of over 12 accessible minibuses and in additional has funded accessible transport costs for specific activities.

For details of a truly special moment as a new accessible minibus is officially presented to Bedelsford School, which was possible in part through a grant of £30,000 awarded by TVF £29,042.70 of which we received in a very generous donation from St George's Hill Golf Club when we were the beneficiary charity of the Lady Captain Nikki Williams and a wonderful supporter of TVF.

Applying for a grant for an accessible minibus or transport costs

The Victoria Foundation funds accessible minibuses and transport costs for organisations, community groups and special schools working with those living in the boroughs of Hounslow, Kingston, and Richmond.

Our next grant review meeting is on Wednesday 13th May 2026 therefore all completed application forms must be forwarded to [email protected] by 6th May to be included at this meeting.

The Victoria Foundation is unable to award grants for accessible transport for those living outside Greater London

  • We are so thankful to The Victoria Foundation for pledging a fantastic donation of over £21,000 … to help us achieve the goal of purchasing a new fully-accessible minibus – we simply wouldn’t be able to fund a minibus with the specification requirements on our own. We are certain that the new minibus will make a real difference to our young people’s lives and to the way we educate and enrich our curriculum along with their learning experience, social development and well-being.
