TVF awarded over one hundred Toolkit Grants and Elective Bursaries last year to medical students who were facing great financial hardship – supporting them to become NHS doctors

’I was delighted to return home to a letter from The Victoria Foundation awarding me with the Medical Toolkit Grant. I am extremely grateful for this generous grant which will be a great help for purchasing study materials for my degree. ….This grant will make a huge difference for me as I finish my 4th year of medicine and enter my 5th and final year. I would like to use the grant for essential revision resources that will help with my upcoming examinations. I will also be able to purchase additional pairs of scrubs and a new pair of shoes for my placements. Thank you again for the Medical Toolkit Grant.’

TVF awarded the University of Nottingham a grant of £2,000 to support four medical students who are facing great financial hardship to help towards the costs of their overseas electives

’On behalf of the University of Nottingham, thank you to The Victoria Foundation for supporting our international medical elective programme. The financial assistance provided by these bursaries is vital in allowing students from all backgrounds to participate. We hope you can take great pride in knowing your funding is supporting the personal and professional development of the next generation of doctors, whilst enabling them to make a vital contribution to healthcare around the world’

The Victoria Foundation is truly grateful to have received an additional six figure donation from The C A W Blackwell Discretionary Will Trust. This very considerable donation has enabled the Foundation to increase both the grant amount it awards to medical students facing great financial hardship during their studies and the number of students it supports annually.

‘I’d like to say a huge, huge thank you to TVF Mr CAW Blackwell Medical Toolkit Grant and would like to accept this incredible offer of £500.  This grant means a huge amount to me, my mum and my brother. Since losing my dad, there's been a huge financial burden on my family, and medical school has been difficult to fund so far. I've been extremely grateful to The Victoria Foundation for helping me through this and relieving some of this stress on us.”
