TVF awarded a grant of £349 to fund a specialist pushchair for Tom who has autism which is making such a big difference to the whole family in so many ways.

‘I have received the pushchair.  This is so amazing. I can now go out on outing safely now with Tom.  I have two older children and we were very restricted to where we  could go due to a normal pushchair not being safe enough for Tom. Now my older children can also enjoy days out and great adventures ahead of us. This pushchair has changed everything for not just Tom but our family.  Thank you so much.'

TVF awarded a grant of £20,854 to Bedelsford Special School in Kingston towards a new Innowalk Pro and staff training for the specialist mobility aid

’The support we have had from the Victoria Foundation to date has had a transformatory effect on many of the young people who attend Bedelsford school. We have seen increased mobility and increased confidence for many of our pupils after using the large Innowalk Pro which was very generously funded by the Victoria Foundation earlier this year.

We are currently raising funds for a new school minibus which will require specialist adaptations in order to ensure pupils can safely access the local community and be more fully included in the world that they live in.

Thanks to the support from the Victoria Foundation these aspirations can be made real and help ensure that Bedelsford pupils can reach their full potential!’

TVF awarded a grant of £339 to fund a lightweight wheelchair for Mary who has been diagnosed with global developmental delay and has mobility issues

’Just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for your incredibly kind support in funding a wheelchair for Mary.   Before the chair arrived, it was almost impossible to take her out anywhere. …It was a daily struggle. When the chair arrived, Mum was tearful and overwhelmed with joy That very weekend, Mum used it to take Mary to the supermarket. It may not sound like the most exciting destination, but it was an adventure for both of them — possibly the first truly independent journey they’d had in years.  The chair has already been used for family visits and medical appointments, and we hope to use it for day trips very soon. It has given us a real sense of freedom and opened up so many possibilities.  Thank you again for making such a big difference in Mary’s life.’
