JOIN UP NOW - TVF Bike Ride Richmond to Windsor loop - 22 August 2021


 

Join us for c50 mile bike ride from Richmond to Windsor and back on Sunday 22nd August 2021 starting from The Orange Tree pub at 7.30am - there will be 2/3 stops for refreshments during the ride and a celebration in Richmond when we return!  Your fundraising target is a minimum of £50 - we hope you will aim higher to reach £500!  The Victoria Foundation is arranging the challenge and there will be c10 - 15 participants taking part. (If you prefer a shorter ride there is the option to return on the train)

How the funds you raise could help

  •      £80 could provide a textbook for a medical student 
  •    £250 could provide an elective bursary for a medical student 
  •    £550 could provide a speclist trike for a youngster
  • £3,000 could provide a lightweight self propel wheelchair
  • £65,000 could provide a sixteen seater accessible minibus

THE ROUTE

The c50mile look route will take in some fabulous sights including Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle and will be confirmed one month before the challenge. 

This is a great opportunity to get fit, to challenge yourself and to help transform lives. TVF relies on events like these to raise vital funds, awareness of TVF and to encourage people to support the charity.

RIDE DETAILS 

  • You will receive a branded t-shirt to wear during the ride
  • Start from the Orange Tree Pub in Richmond on 22nd August at 7.30am 
  • You will receive full details of the route and map one month before the event
  • You will cycle within a group, taking regular breaks, snacks will be provided  - please bring water
  • At the finish you will receive a medal, certificate, a beer/bubbles to celebrate our achievement
  • You will need to adhere to any COVID-19 social distancing regulations during the ride

This ride event follows last years Prudential 46 mile MyRideLondon where TVF supporters raised much needed funds to help the charity to continute to provide grants for vital medical equipment and assistance to those in great need. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on TVF's Fundraising with the cancellation of events and the loss of income at a time when families and medical students need the charity most.

FUNDRAISING

The minimum  fundraising target is £50 excluding Gift Aid but we hope you will aim high to raise £500. TRAINING 

If you do not cycle c20 miles regulary on and off road it is essential to train. TVF will arrange a training session  around Richmond in July and August before the challenge.  Please email if you would like to join us l.votier@thevictoriafoundation.org.uk 

A Bike Ride in aid of TVF  - do it your way!

If you prefer you can arrange a ride in aid of The Victoria Foundation with family/colleagues. TVF will provide a t-shirt, refreshments,  a medal and certificate. 

Your team could aim to raise £250 which could provide e a Toolkit Grant for a medical student to support them during their studies by funding vital textbooks, medical equipment or travel costs to a hospital placement.
