TVF Volunteers help to replant Kingston Hospital's Garden of Reflection

Published: 05 November 2020

We would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers Dodo, Gail, Heather and Julie who joined TVF's Development Director to help replant the Garden of Reflection at Kingston Hospital. This will be a much used space over the coming months for frontline staff, patients and families during these challenging times.

We’d like to thank The Victoria Foundation very much for providing a number of volunteers to help replant the Garden of Reflection just before we start another national lockdown caused by a resurgent coronavirus. The Garden of Reflection is a focal point for those wards overlooking the centre of the hospital and acts as a quiet retreat for patients and staff during the day. Earlier this year, charitable funds allowed us to clear out the garden that opened in 2000 to create more seating space and we hope there may be scope to incorporate a monument to remember those impacted by the ongoing pandemic in due course. We’re all now looking forward for staff and patients to enjoy this space in the coming months and years.’                                        Rob Aldous, Director Kingston Hospital Charity
