Leave a legacy

Leaving a gift to the Foundation is a unique way to mark your life.

The Victoria Foundation exists to provide medical assistance to those in need, and to ensure that young people who may not otherwise have been able to study in the field of medicine are given the opportunity to do so.  By leaving a legacy you can help us in that task.

Of course, leaving a legacy gift is not a decision that can be made lightly and without due consideration. But if you do choose to leave a gift to the Foundation in your Will, not only will you be helping to fund projects and services funded through the Foundation, you will also be supporting our vision to ensure that those who need medical treatment or services have access to that which will make their lives easier, and that young people who may not otherwise have been able to study in the field of medicine are able to do so – and in turn, provide medical treatment for future generations.

Why make a Will?

Whether or not you choose to leave a gift to the Foundation, it is important to make a Will to ensure your wishes are honoured. If you die without making a legal Will, the courts decide what happens to your estate.

Having a Will also makes life easier for those left behind and will help avoid misunderstandings. If you have children you can safeguard their future by providing for them financially and, where necessary, you can appoint a legal guardian.

What's more, with professional help, you might be able to minimise the amount of inheritance tax payable on your estate while also helping charities like TVF ensure their vital work can continue in the future.

Giving Shares

Give shares as a gift and make substantial tax savings on both Capital Gains and Income Tax.

For further information on Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and other issues concerning Giving Shares, please  contact the Foundation on  020 8332 1788 or by Email

Can we help you?

The Foundation advises anyone who wants to make or amend a Will to see a solicitor.

However, our team are here to provide help and guidance about the things you should consider when making a Will. Although they are not legal or financial advisers, our team can:

  • Demonstrate how a gift to the Foundation in your Will can help our work

  • Explain about the various types of legacy gifts and their benefits

  • Talk through the practical steps involved in making or changing a Will

  • Help you find a local solicitor

  • Visit you at home, at work or wherever is convenient to talk through any questions you might have.

For more information about Leaving a Legacy, or to discuss the subject further, please contact our Chief Executive, Graham Ball on 020 8332 1788 or email

However you decide to support The Victoria Foundation you will be helping to transform lives
