Don't miss VIEWS, an exhibition and sale of new works of art with an accompanying book in aid of The Victoria Foundation, celebrating the restoration of The Star and Garter, Richmond Hill by London Square. The stunning collection of more than 50 commissioned original works of art, including iconic views of the Thames as immortalised by Turner, will take place in the newly restored Marble Hall, The Star and Garter from 4th April - 4th May 2017 by appointment through Lorna Votier or T:07533166552
There is a breadth of art, to suit all tastes, by acclaimed artists including: David Mach RA - a set of three fantastic collages, Joe Hargan DA PPAI PAI - two very imaginative compositions, Carl Laubin, who began as an architect who also painted but became a painter who also had an interest in architecture after producing a series of paintings of the Royal Opera House for Jeremy Dixon, architect of its redevelopment. Laubin has three stunning paintings in the exhibition one of which features on the cover of the accompanying book which showcases all of the works of art. Luke Martineau, current president of the Chelsea Arts Society, has four fabulous paintings of the view to and from The Star and Garter to mention just a few.
The VIEWS exhibition is being sponsored by London Square, coordinated by The Asgill House Trust and arranged by The Victoria Foundation. A donation from the sale of the works of art, priced as they would be in a London Gallery, and the proceeds from the accompanying book will provide medical support for the elderly in the Richmond area through the work of The Victoria Foundation.
