Piers Storie-Pugh OBE

Following a Short Service Commission with the 1st Bn The Queen's Regt, during which he served in West Belfast, Germany, Canada and Denmark and was stationed at the German Parachute School, Piers then served with the Territorial Army, Army rising to the rank of full colonel. He set up Remembrance Travel in 1985 to run the Government's War Widows Scheme, and 'Heroes Return' for veterans in 2014. He travelled all over Europe, The Far East, North Africa and the Mediterranean: from Belgium to Burma, The Somme to Singapore, Italy to India, Holland to Hong Kong. Piers is a well-known public speaker on war cemeteries worldwide and also The Chindit Operations of Burma, aside from Colditz, and has made films on all three subjects. From 2011 to 2016 he was Chief Executive of the Not Forgotten Association, a tri-service charity for the wounded, founded in 1920. Piers has assembled over 90 power point slides to support his unique, amusing and highly informative Colditz talk. There will be an opportunity to ask questions on this unique and personal insight into the legendary tale of unbelievable endurance.
