Medical support transforming lives

The New Victoria Hospital Staff and Consultants Dragon Boat Challenge Teams raise over £4,000 for The Victoria Foundation.

Published: 17 July 2016

On Sunday 17th July, teams from The New Victoria Hospital took part in the Kingston Rotary Club Dragon Boat Challenge to raise funds for The Victoria Foundation.

It was a fabulous day with 47 boats competing. The hospital entered teams comprising of staff, consultants, their friends and families and supporters of The Victoria Foundation.

The teams performed fantastically with tremendous enthusiasm and have raised over £4,000 doubling what they raised in 2015 - a truly a fantastic achievement. The funds will help to develop the best dementia care for local residents through the Kingston Hospital Dementia Appeal.

This was due in part to a very generous donation pledge of £1,000 if Graham Ball, CEO of the New Victoria Hospital and The Victoria Foundation, landed in the water which he duly did!

Graham Ball, Chief Executive of The New Victoria Hospital said, “It was a superb event and we were delighted to have taken part. I would like to thank all of our staff, consultants, their families and friends, who took part or came along and supported us. In particular I would like to thank everyone who sponsored us – it was also worth getting wet for such a generous donation!”
